Targeting: Device, Product, and Customer •

The Quick Announcement Bar offers various targeting features to help you select when to display a bar.

By default, the bar will display on both desktops and mobile devices:

Device targeting default setting

Note: With this setting selected, when the bar displays on mobile devices, a cap will be placed on the font size and padding. This helps avoid large text sizes on smaller screens.
Desktop Only

You can set the bar to display only on desktop devices. When this option is selected, the bar will not be visible on mobile devices, only on desktop computers.

Mobile Only

You can also choose for the bar to display only on mobile devices. When configured this way, there are no restrictions on font size for the bar.

Mobile Only setting

You can set the bar to target specific products under the Page Targeting section of the bar setup. By default, when Product pages is selected, the bar will show on all product pages.

Individual Products

You can select to only display the bar on individual products by clicking on the Add/Remove products individually button:

From there, a popup will appear prompting you to select the products you want the bar to appear on.

Specific Collections

You can select to only display the bar on products in specific collections by clicking on the Add/Remove products by collection button:

From there, a popup will appear prompting you to select the collections that the product must be in for the bar to appear.

Product Tag

You can select to only display the bar on product pages where the featured product has a matching tag by clicking on the Add/Remove products by tag button:

In this example, the bar is being set up to only display when the customer visits a product page for a product that has the tag 'sale':

Note: Tag targeting requires that the app embed be turned on for the app in your theme.

App embed setting

By default, all customers, logged in or not, will have the bar displayed.

Customer targeting default

Note: Customer targeting requires that:
  • Customers be logged in.
  • The app embed must be turned on for the app in your theme.
Customer Logged-in

You can choose to target the bar to only display to customers who are logged in, or hide it from logged-in customers.

Lifetime Spent

Another way to target customers is by the amount that they've spent in your store since registering an account.

Lifetime spent targeting

In this example, the bar would only display to signed-in customers who have spent 500 or more (in your shop's base currency). You can also hide the bar based on spending:

B2B Customers

If you are utilizing Shopify's native B2B features, you can target your bar to display exclusively to your B2B customers.

B2B Customers setting

  • All logged in B2B customers: Selecting this will display the bar to any visitor who is currently logged into a verified B2B customer account on your storefront.
  • Specific B2B customers: Choose this option if you want to target the bar to specific corporate clients or business hubs. You can filter your audience using the following fields:
    • Company name: The bar will display only to customers belonging to the specified companies.
    • Location name: Target specific business branches or physical company locations.
    • Company ID: Enter the specific unique IDs assigned to your B2B companies in Shopify.
    • Location ID: Target specific location-based corporate accounts by inputting their precise location IDs.
Note: For all fields above, you can enter multiple values by separating them with a semicolon (;). Text fields such as Company and Location names are case-sensitive.
Multiple Targeting Options

When you select multiple targeting options, the bar will be shown if any of the options are true. In the following example, the bar will be shown to customers tagged 'vip' and also to customers who have spent 500 or more of your store's currency.

Multiple targeting options

Note: Multiple targeting options use "or" logic, not "and". The bar will display if the customer meets any one of the conditions — not all of them.
